What can be said about DA BAGS that hasn't been beaten to death already? Maybe a picture would serve us better.

This picture appeared in the October 13, 2007 Daily Comet. Are they some of the same bags Charlotte wanted to pay $5.3 million to rent and the Council negotiated down to $3.5 million?

If DA BAGS was one of Charlotte's great accomplishments, why did she keep them secret for 10 months? And why were they left in the field behind that cow pasture in Valentine for 30 days?

I hope this is my next to last post to this blog. Now its up to you whether Charlotte and George Randolph remain at the helm of Lafourche Parish Government.

Campaign Finance

The Comet published an article yesterday analyzing the money raised by the two candidates for Lafourche Parish President. According to the article, the challenger Tommy Lasseigne raised $59,700 and Charlotte Randolph, the incumbent, raised $52,275.

For an incumbent to be behind a challenger in fund raising in any political race, the incumbent is in serious, serious trouble. The common political belief is that an incumbent should be able to raise lots of money due to the power of the incumbency. In this race, Charlotte doesn't seem to have the power.

Cut Off and Larose Flooding Problems Remain Unresolved

Charlotte mentioned on KLRZ today that the flooding problems behind LCO and Cut Off Elementary remain unaddressed. This is notwithstanding the fact that these problems originate long before Charlotte's term began. Charlotte foisted those problems off to Drainage District # 1.

Charlotte also mentioned that $11 million of Buzz Breaux's surplus remains.

So, if there is a problem in the 10th Ward, one of the local districts, whether Levee, Drainage or Port Commission, must handle it. And if its in another part of the Parish, Parish Government handles it, right? That's why the Cote Blanche bridge remains unrepaired and the huge space in the new Galliano library remains vacant waiting to be occupied by the DA, Parish offices, Assessor, Clerk of Court, etc? There is no district local to the 10th Ward with that responsibility and Charlotte has other things to do with the $11 million surplus.

Charlotte's Notice of Seizure

Charlotte and George Randolph placed an ad in the Gazette revealing various judgments against their opponent on the public record. Presumably, when one comes to the table with this type of attack, their hands should be clean, right? In other words, Charlotte & George should not have any similar record. Wrong!!! Charlotte & George want it both ways. They want to be able to bad mouth others, while they are immune to such attacks.

Well, if you go to the Clerk of Court's office in Thibodaux and go to the mortgage records, look at document number 583847. It is a Notice of Seizure to one Charlotte Angelette with a date of seizure of May 10, 1983. Furthermore, if you go to Terrebonne Parish and run "George Randolph" in the mortgage indices, you will find an outstanding judgment against George's failed used car business.

Ray's Generators A Big Problem
Charlotte Randolph made an appearance on KLRZ this morning where she took her opponent's mail-out, which asks WHY on various issues you have read about here - DA BAGS, the credit card misuse, overtime for salaried employees, the generators, George's wreck, Ray using Parish equipment and personnel on his private property. Of course, my name came up. All lies according to Charlotte, notwithstanding the fact that all those stories appeared in the Comet, which subsequently endorsed Charlotte. Charlotte didn't touch the generators. They're a PROBLEM!

By not touching the generators, she could claim her and her gang have been fully exonerated by the Ethics Commission, although they only touched the wreck and Ray digging a ditch for his daughter.

As for the generators, Loulan Pitre passed a bill through both houses of the Legislature, without one negative vote, and signed into law by the Governor making it clear that this was an Ethics law violation. Furthermore, Ray Cheramie was privately censured by the Ethics Commission, which was never made public. That's why its too hot.

On the radio, Charlotte sounded near tears and near hysterics and very ill at ease for her entire half hour.

Ray Cheramie Did Work On His Private Property, Replay

On June 19, 2006, TPRTK broke the story that Lafourche Parish Public Works Director Ray Cheramie used Parish equipment and personnel to perform work on his private property. He admitted it in an article which appeared in the Comet a few months later. Former Quachita Parish DPW Director Bo Boyte was found guilty of felony malfeasance last year for the same thing. Yet, Ray Cheramie has not yet been called to account.

And Ray will be Charlotte's DPW Director in her second term.

Talking 'Bout Cameron Parish Generators, Replay

While DA BAGS story was THE major screw-up by the George & Charlotte Randolph Gang, the gaff that really cut to the heart of Lafourche citizens, and everybody heard about, was Ray Cheramie loaning the generators loaned to us by Cameron Parish after Hurricane Katrina to his family and friends. Who of you didn't have a family member, or someone close, who had medical needs which required a reliable source of electricity? What did you do? You reached down in your pocket, or went into debt, and bought a generator. Not Ray, since he believes everything that the Parish has use of is his personal property to do so as he sees fit. And no one seems to have the guts to set him straight. Cam? Craig? Al? Jim?

Why did Charlotte Randolph not take those generators and place them in centrally located sites so that the elderly could get, at least, a momentary break from the heat and humidity of those terrible September days of 2005?

Need any more reasons not to vote for Charlotte Randolph?

Parish Employees Shorted A Week's Pay, Replay
In early July, 2006, TPRTK reported the Charlotte Randolph Administration's shorting Parish employees one week's pay. Here's part of what we wrote:

"Where's My Check?!?!
Parish pay roll checks due on June 30, 2006 contained one weeks pay instead of two weeks, the amount due. ... In addition to Parish employees, DA employees and Judge employees are also affected. From speaking with a number of these people yesterday, they are pretty steamed. Their understanding is that they will not receive that one week's pay until they leave their public job, either through resignation, termination or retirement. While employees working directly for the Parish received an email giving them a heads up on the pay policy change, those working for Judges and the DA didn't. The short checks affected some of their July 4 vacation plans. Since most have their checks electronically deposited, they access their money via debt card. Some have gotten NSFs and insufficient balance messages when trying to access their accounts because the money they thought would be in their accounts was not. It's another f_ _ _-up brought to you courtesy of Charorge. (What thought went into this bad crazyness?)

Is this evidence the Parish is experiencing cash flow problems due to Charorge's mismanagement, such as paying for George's wreck or plane tickets, meals and booze (didn't Duffy go to Federal prison for something similar to this?)or is that money going to pay for grass seed for Ray's cows?"

Parish Employee Survey, Replay

In early July, 2006, TPRTK obtained the results from a survey conducted by the Randolph Administration for the purpose of providing “better employee relations amongst our staff...", and was not intended for Public consumption. The original series ran in TPRTK in late July, 2006. The survey was probably conducted in May or June, 2006. It asked 13 questions which the employee could rank 1-5, from strongly disagree to strongly agree. One question was "Do I know what is expected of me at work?".

In addition to answering the questions by scoring them, employees were given a chance to "list any other suggestions/comments on what can be improved at the Lafourche Parish Government". Fifty-two employees took the opportunity to respond in this way. Generally, the responses revealed very low morale amongst Parish employees, with many citing poor communications within the Administration and disrespectful supervisors as complaints.

On a positive note, the comments also reveal we have employees who want to do a good job, if they were permitted to do so, and who care about the quality of work they produce for us.

All told, the survey paints a bleak picture of life for Public employees inside the Randolph Administration.

Here are some excerpts:

"Having been working here at the LPG for 20+ years, I have seen many changes, both good and bad. But out of those years have I not seen more employees dissatisfied and morale so low than it is now. Employees are not afraid of work and will agree that lots of work is getting done, they just don't like the way they are being treated, unfairly. There is no "I" in the word "team" and in order to get a great team effort, employees need to feel like they are part of the team and right now, they don't. “

"Having been working here at LPG for many years, I have seen many people and situations come and go. Here are a few things that I hear talked about among employees and the difference from previous administrations: 1. Raises are given unfairly, and if you think someone's title change in order to get an increase in pay doesn't get around, think again. It is extremely hard to digest that when the Parish Administrator announces in a staff meeting when discussing evaluations that there are no funds for raises in 2006. 2. COMMUNICATIONS - so many employees say the left hand doesn't know what the right is doing... 3. Every time it is near election time, you always hear the same thing, "the next Administration can't possibly get any worse than this one." Most of the time, it is the Administration versus the Council, no matter who is in office, but this term, it also seems like it is the Department Heads/Parish President versus the employees. Most employees don't even bother going the extra mile any more because they figure, what for, it's the boss's way or no way. I'll give you an example this survey the majority of the employees said, "why send it in, nothing is going to get done about it anyway." It seems like the employees, the "little people", are being forgotten and their ideas, efforts, and suggestions don't count. If the employees don't trust and respect their Department Heads or Parish President, you will never have a staff give you 100% team effort. 4. At the beginning of this term, staff meetings were held with all employees and the atmosphere presented at that time was good everyone talked, happy to be involved, was told put out family photos, etc everyone was excited. What happened? I say that if you are going to go through the trouble of asking for this survey, then listen to what your employees are telling you. Let them help this Administration be the best that it can be, not just the Department Heads. Listen and take seriously what all of the employees who responded are saying, because I have never seen employee morale so low!!"

“Moral! WHAT MORAL!!! That has been destroyed. How about this for being praised? Being told that we can't be fired but that we can be made miserable, and doing so. Then weeks later being told if you get up in the morning and don't feel like coming to work, it's time to look for another job. Or being told, if your thinking about butting heads with me, think again, cause you're not going to win. Or giving your all to someone you know if given a chance would fire you. Instead, they try to find a mistake we may have made, then told no matter how much you do, it's not enough. Even Memo's could be sent in a more civilized way, instead of, if you don't do this or that you will be reprimanded or terminated. We are civilized people who can understand command rather than somewhat of a threat.
Communication! We have meetings all the time, but no one really knows what's going on. If someone makes a decision or takes care of a project or something like that, no one is notified, if someone calls about a project that a co-worker is working on and he/she is on days off, the caller has to wait for the employee to return. Some things are top secret. I thought we are a public entity?"

"I show up for work on time everyday on time. I don't leave until 4:30. That is what I get paid for. I feel I'm doing what is expected of me at work and then some. Yet you hear of the "big dogs" reaping the rewards. Some "Big Dogs" get pay increases of $10,000 per year. Some get use of free generators. We received a measly 3% only once in two and a half years Mrs. Randolph's been in office. Don't think word hasn't gotten around about the barns getting their little increase, or the people with the "title" changes getting their little increase. RAISES ARE GIVEN TO WHOM THEY CHOOSE! Why can't it be fair! We all work hard. We all make sacrifices on the job. The majority of the peons that work for Lafourche Parish like their jobs and all NEED their job. MOST DON'T FEEL APPRECIATED! I KNOW I DON'T"

"1. Do I know what is expected of me at work? YES, IT'S THE BOSS' WAY OR NO WAY AND I DON'T AGREE WITH THAT. 2. Do I have the materials and equipment I need to do my work right? DEPENDS ON WHO YOU ARE 3. At work, do I have the opportunity to do what I do best everyday? I DO MY BEST EVERYDAY IN EYERYTHING THAT I'M ASKED TO DO, BUT WITH THE THINGS THAT YOU HAVE TO PUT UP WITH AND THAT GO ON AROUND YOU, IT'S NOT EASY... SOMETIMES IT MAKES YOU JUST WANT TO QUIT. 4. In the last 7 days, have I received recognition/praise for doing good work? RECOGNITION/PRAISE WHAT'S THAT? THE WORK IS NEVER GOOD ENOUGH NEVER SATISFIED. Does my supervisor, or someone at work, seem to care about me as a person? MY SUPERVISOR CERTAINLY DOES NOT CARE ABOUT ME AS A PERSON BUT I DO HAVE CO-WORKERS THAT SINCERELY CARE. 6. Is there someone at work who encourages my development? SUPERVISOR, NO, CO-WORKERS, YES EMPLOYEES TRY TO HELP ONE ANOTHER GET THROUGH THE DAY. 7. At work, do my opinions/suggestions seem to count? TO ME THEY COUNT, BUT NOT TO THE BOSS!! 8. Am I treated fairly/equitably at work on a routine basis? DO YOU CONSIDER "IN YOUR FACE" KIND OF THINGS FROM YOUR SUPERVISOR FAIR? 9. Does the mission/purpose of my company make me feel my job is important? WHAT MISSION WE HAVE A MISSION? ALL I KNOW IS I COME TO WORK AND TRY TO DO MY JOB WITHOUT ANY HASSLES. 10. Are my co-workers committed to doing quality work? YES, MOST EMPLOYEES CARE ABOUT THE PARISH AND TAKE PRIDE IN THEIR WORK. 11. Do I have a best friend at work? I HAVE FRIENDS, NOT A BEST FRIEND. 12. In the last 6 months, has someone at work talked to me about my progress? THE ONLY RESPONSE YOU EVER GET IS THAT IT'S NEVER ENOUGH WORK DONE IN A SHORT ENOUGH PERIOD OF TIME AND WHEN YOU DO COMPLETE THE TASK, IT'S NEVER GOOD ENOUGH, NEVER SATISFIED. 13. This last year, have I had opportunities at work to learn and grow? YES, FROM WATCHING HOW MY SUPERVISOR ACTS, I'VE LEARNED HOW NOT TO BE IF EVER I BECOME A SUPERVISOR."

"1. Communication is worse in this administration than it's ever been. Chain of Command, HA! He doesn't have a clue of what that means or how it is supposed to work. "There is a major lack of communication throughout the parish government. Decisions are made, and employees find out far too late; more often than not, the employees most affected are never included in the discussion. Information is horded by the different departments to the point that important information that SHOULD be shared, never gets dispersed to employees. Salaries are another major complaint of mine. The duties and responsibilities of employees do not match the pay scale. Increases were talked about, but never given. Select employees received "promotions" that were accompanied by pay increases with, to the best of my knowledge, no increase in duties. I see many people that go far beyond their prescribed duties that have gotten nothing. It is very difficult to work in a job where you are not happy."

"My supervisor did not pass along an important memo to me regarding the changes in payroll. Don't know what can be done to insure that all memos reach all affected employees?"

"We have a communication problem in finance. We also have lots of attitude. Each person in this department has their own set of rules. You never get a thanks or good job. This department is very hard to work in. The morale is not a very pleasant one."

"It would be beneficial for LDPW to take suggestions from employees who have done a specific job for years instead of doing something what they think is right when they don't have the knowledge or the understanding of a job."

"Supervisors need to value workers more, and they need to listen to the workers' opinions on jobs and other ideas about doing jobs, not just to do a job the way they want it all the time. The bosses have developed a my way or no way attitude and I think it is a sorry situation. A worker has to work twice as hard because a supervisor wants it his way."

Gazette Writers Strike Back

In letters to the editor which appeared in today's Lafourche Gazette, two writers for the paper, Lori Guidry and Doug Cheramie, took issue with Lafourche Parish President Charlotte Randolph for claiming, in a letter to the editor of her own in a previous edition, that they were biased when they exposed the fact that Charlotte had lots of money for Cam's Palace in Thibodaux, but not enough money to move services provided at the decrepit annex in Galliano to the new space available in the new Galliano library. Read 'em. Sounds like Pulitzer Prize investigative journalism to me.

What about the Cote Blanche bridge?

What about Charlotte declaring an emergency on September 21, and all the barns were closed and no one was at the parish office to answer the phones, since they close on Fridays, for citizens desiring sand bags? That's what I call emergency planning!

Charlotte accuses me of "attacking" the Port Commission in the ad in Sunday's Gazette. OK. You mean the illegal contracts with attorneys they had, Charlotte? The one with Loulan? They gave that one up, right? What about the second one, the illegal one I filed suit over? They gave that one up too, right?

Oh, by the way, after you lose, you think the ever popular Emperor Ted will give you back your $800 per month contract? That's right readers, Randolph Publications had an $800 per month contract with the Port Commission, which they lost after Charlotte got elected. What they did for $800? I don't know. Ask Emperor Ted. This is the same Emperor Ted who had the Port attorney shadowing me at Council meetings after I blew open Charlotte's misuse of Parish credit cards.

Charorge Attacks Chauvin In Gazette Ad

I guess we're having an impact on whether Charorge gets to stay at the Public tit. She placed an ad in today's Gazette taking issue with various issues on which I have trumpetted over the last year and a half (not 3 years, Charorge). DA BAGS, the wreck, Ray Cheramie doing work on HIS private property. She doesn't address the credit card misuse nor the generators nor shorting parish employees a week's check nor discontinuing recycling nor all-time low employee morale, etc. So I guess they concede all those issues, and my criticism as valid.

Hope you have another ad in Wednesday's Gazette, Charorge. My hit count is skyrocketing! Keep pushing dat traffic, baby!

Road Runner is a userid Charlotte and George use on the forum. This post was written by Charlotte. Charlotte Randolph approached my Mother's table, where my Mom, my Stepfather and several of their friends were seated. My Mother reacted as any Mother would a day after Charlotte Randolph spoke badly about her son on KLRZ Friday - she told her she thought she had a lot of nerve walking up to her table considering what had transpired on the radio Friday and told her to move away. My Mother likely used colorful language. I understand Charlotte Randolph also uses colorful language during some of her drunken stupors.

I believe Charlotte's posting is representative of her and her husband's characters. They will do whatever it takes to keep their places at the public trough, even if it means attacking family members of their critics.

Stop Victimizing Charlotte Randolph!!
Pauvre Charlotte got hysterical about the evil Council 5 and Carl Chauvin this morning on KLRZ. You see, those dastardly villains, in Charlotte's incapacitated mind, are out to get her and hire Carl Chauvin as Council attorney after they do. (Sort of like when her and George were going around trying to get people to run against Chuckie Cheramie. Their line then was if Chucky is reelected, Carl Chauvin will run the Port. It's a boogieman tactic.) Also, Charlotte perceives a photo of a noose I posted here several months ago as a direct threat. And this blog, in Charlotte's drug-numbed brain, is designed to facilitate getting her out of office.

First off, I'm fat and happy not being a lawyer up in beautiful north central Arkansas. I shag leases for natural gas explorers. It suits me better. It is alot less stressful than law and the pay and extras are very, very satisfactory. Know what I mean? If I never practice law again, that's fine with me. And, as far as representing a public body, it ain't going to happen. Mark that down. So, Charlotte is full of shit and paranoia and disinformation on that point.

The noose. Charlotte takes it as a direct threat. And compared it to the "Jena 6". (I didn't know that Charorge were African-Americans. We have a history of lynching blacks, unfortunately, not corrupt and incompetent politicians and their over-bearing spouses.) Had she paid attention during her English classes, she would have learned about figures of speech. Those are tools we use to describe things in other than literal terms. You know, like I said in the prior paragraph "I'm fat and happy"? Well, I'm happy, but I ain't fat. I used that term to represent that I was prospering. The noose wasn't intended as a threat; I'm not a violent person. It was used as a visual metaphor for what I thought the voters should do to her and George at the polls. Your fear didn't get any traction with the FBI, did it, Charorge? I ain't seen neither hide nor hair of them since Summer '06 when they looked at DA BAGS material I have.

What y'all need to understand is that the current Republican Party, of which Charorge are members, teaches their members to stay in office by spreading fear. For Bush, it's terrorism. ("They hate us for our freedom." "Fight em there or fight em here." Etc.) For Charorge, its the Council 5 and Carl Chauvin. It's a ploy to distract you from reality and control you. Like Franklin Roosevelt said at the beginning of WWII, "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself." What that means is the state of fear is potentially more dangerous than the actual threat itself. And how, exactly, am I a threat, other than my big mouth and those ideas dangerous to corrupt and incompetent politicians like Charorge that come out of it?

As far as a whether this blog was designed to sink Charlotte, how is that relevant? I bring facts and opinion to the attention of the public; stuff they cannot hear or read anywhere else. If the result is sinking the incompetent and corrupt like Charorge, so be it. This blog has attracted an average of 56 readers per day for a year and a half. I ain't been sued and people keep coming back. Enough said.

One week left. I'm sure things will get a whole lot more crazy.

In keeping with their policy of misinforming people, George has been heard to tell people Charlotte is a Democrat. Witness the misinformation getting into a recent Comet article. Would the Bollingers and other big shot Lafourche businesses be contributing to their campaign if they didn't think she was Republican?

According to the Secretary of State's Candidate Database, Charlotte Randolph is a Republican.

The Randolphs don't spread lies unless there is something to be gained. In this instance, they must think being a Republican is a liability.

Air Fare to Montana
Chad Rogers does a piece on La. Attorney General candidate Buddy Caldwell's brush with the Legislative auditor in the late 90s. The Auditor charged that Caldwell had “spent $1,529 in District Attorney's Office funds to pay for personal expenses", including "air fare to Montana".

George Jules Randolph, dob 2-1-47, who is the spouse of Lafourche Parish President Charlotte Randolph and was liable in the automobile accident August 24, 2005 wherein he wrecked the Parish's emergency preparedness vehicle while chauffering Charlotte, for which taxpayers paid $40,000, has an extensive motor vehicle criminal record. Below is the record found in Terrebonne and Lafourche Parish. The date is the date of arraignment.

Informed sources confirm rumors that have been floating around that one of my personal heroes is running for State Representative - Jerry "Truck" Gisclair, owner of KLRZ radio.

Among the many reasons I admire Truck is how he gave to the community after Katrina. His station became not only the only reliable communications link we had for a week or more, connecting those in need with those who could help, but he also donated the use of his warehouse to store food and other stuff, and as a clearinghouse to fill people's needs in that crisis. For that, the guy, along with Otis and the rest of the army of volunteers, deserve our undying admiration.

Plus, I admire him cuz he is living out one of every music lovers fantasies - owning a radio station that plays all the music we love. And that station's talk show is proof positive that the guy not only cherishes, but also understands, the meaning of freedom of speech as contained in our Constitution. He allows you to say pretty much whatever you want to say, even if he disagrees, as long as it ain't dirty or obviously slanderous. I praise him for this notwithstanding the fact I was thrown off the station for making inflammatory remarks about Entergy one day. I didn't like it, but I am only one person. The fact that thousands of listeners have been given a chance to voice their opinions, when there was no other comparable outlet before, takes precedent in my book over my hurt feelings and anger on that one day.

Additionally, notwithstanding Mr. Adams' contentions, from my experience, Truck is the furthest you can get from a fond chock. The guy is humble and easy to approach.

My only question to you Truck is, do you really want the headache? If so, let me know where to send the check.

Informed sources tell TPRTK that Charorge's fundraiser at Nicholls Saturday night in a cavernous ballroom was sparsely attended. Depending on who believe, only 62 or 92 were in attendance, with lots of free tickets handed out.

Sources also tell TPRTK, Charorge's most recent poll is pretty grime: 51 % - Charorge, $49% - Lasseigne. For an incumbent, those kind of numbers are real bad. Evidence of how panicked Charorge have gotten - for the first time George Randolph spoke by phone on the KLRZ touting his wife's accomplishments - working with Mary Landrieu, blah, blah, blah.

Also, informed sources tell TPRTK that Charlotte made a phone call to a prominent 10th Ward landowner offering Parish equipment and personnel to resolve a problem which is the subject of litigation between him and a second prominent 10th Ward landowner. That's right! Apparently, Charlotte believes the lawsuit is somehow a problem for her campaign and, although she has no money to fix the Cote Blanche Bridge, she has plenty of money to illegally fix a problem on private land.

Loulan Pitre Will Not Seek Reelection
According to The Daily Kingfish, citing John Maginnis' Louisiana Political Fax Weekly, Loulan Pitre, author of the Ray J. Cheramie Memorial Generator Bill, which recently became law, will not seek reelection.

Update: August 5 - emailed news release dated Thursday, August 2 from Loulan: "State Representative Loulan Pitre, Jr. has announced that he will not seek election to a third term in office." While this writer has had his share of well documented differences with Loulan, I would be remise not to acknowledge Loulan's genuine concern for, and efforts towards, the preservation of our cultural and geographical heritage.

After reading the part of the article where the writer describes Pauvre Will's disdeeds, tell me it doesn't sound like the malfeasance of the Randolph Gang: "routinely using public funds to do work on private property, making parish employees help raise his campaign funds and awarding contracts without the approval of the Parish Council." That's small potatoes compared to what we got!!!

Booze, meals and plane tickets for a spouse on Parish credit card. (The Judge would order reimbursement anyway, Charlotte. That's not a defense. You broke it; you bought it.)
Approving payment for spouses wreck without Council approval. (Council only approved $15,000, not the $4o,ooo which was paid and what the wreck actually cost us.)
Contracts without Council approval for 25 plus days of rental of DA BAGS to the tune of at least $4 million after the emergency had ended.
Ray's generators-for-family-members plan.
Ray's use of parish equipment and personnel on at least 4 properties he or his family owns or leases.

And that is just the stuff we actually know about. What did we not uncover? Shake-downs of vendors? Kickbacks for contracts? Did your staff take personal leave time to work at your golf tournament? Have y'all paid taxes on all the "perks" y'all got, including the "supplemental pay" from local businesses when the $35,000 salary wasn't cutting it and the payments for the wreck which you are liable for? Our bad boy former Iberia Parish President Will Langlinais was sentenced to five years probation. As a condition of probation he got six months home incarceration and must perform 480 hours of community service. That is in addition to his prior agreement to reimburse Iberia Parish $100,000 as restitution.

OK, Charorge, this is the benchmark for y'all and Ray. Did y'all do worse or not? Only time will tell whether y'all will be spared jail. But y'all better be saving up y'all dimes for the restitution bill. Remember former Ouachita Parish DPW director Bo Boyte got a 5 years jail sentence last year for less than what Ray has done.

When her long-time supporter Jerry Lafont called in to announce his displeasure with the direction the Parish was going and how he had decided to relocate, all Charlotte could do was state that 3000 people had moved into the Parish in the last several years. Yeah, Charlotte, but most are unskilled Mexicans, no disrespect to Mexicans, not highly skilled professionals or successful businessmen like Mr. Lafont.

Charlotte was given every opportunity to talk about what SHE has done for Lafourche in the last 3 1/2 years and she came up empty. Instead, she went into cheerleader mode. Charlotte, we don't need a recruiter, we need a Parish President who has a grasp of what that job calls for - drainage, roads and bridges.

BTW, Charorge, when are y'all going to start the repairs to the Cote Blanche bridge?

Should Vitters Be Investigated For Child Abuse?
The Vitters used their children in campaign ads in 2004. Now they are concerned about the impact David's Penis Scandal will have on their children, with the media hounding the Vitters for answers. Since David will not resign and, thusly, will allow his children to continue to be exposed to attention, and derision from other children once they return to school, because of HIS unseemly past, shouldn't the Louisiana Department of Social Services investigate the Vitters for child abuse or neglect?

Article 502 of the Louisiana Children's Code defines "Abuse" as "any one of the following acts which seriously endanger the physical, mental, or emotional health and safety of the child:

(a) The infliction, attempted infliction, or, as a result of inadequate supervision, the allowance of the infliction or attempted infliction of physical or mental injury upon the child by a parent or any other person."

Why David Vitter Must Resign
His believability is finished. He has been shown to be someone who claims to live by certain high moral standards, but actually lives something else in real life. He claims to be a family-values kind of guy, but resorts to prostitutes to fulfill his sexual needs. (Something this writer hasn't had to do since he was 18 years old.) He preaches abstinence, yet is promiscuous. He sponsors legislation to protect the sanctity of marriage, yet cheats on his wife. He panders to the evangelicals, yet engages in behavior they abhor.

After revealing himself to be a liar, a deceiver and a low-life, he can't very well return to preaching all those virtues he claims to have lived by, yet hasn't, at least, not unless its in a comedy act. He is no longer credible, unless he changes his stripes and becomes a tolerant liberal. And, this, his big shot controllers will never allow.

It's time, David, to go away.
